I am trying to find out if anyone knows any information about a William London who appears on the 1840 Calloway Co., KY census. He is in the Unknown Townships section on Page 73 (Census Images Online on ancestry.com #39-40/106). Line #18. William London (only head of household listed) but has children as follows 1 male under 5, 1 male 5-10, 1 male 20-30 (himself). 1 Female 15-20, 1 female 30-40.
The reason I am interested is that I have a William London born ca. 1834 in KY (from the 1870 Iron Co., MO census) and thus he could be the male 5-10 listed here...and there are few London surnames listed in KY in 1840 (the only other is from Warren Co., and there's not a child of the right age.)
Any information would be helpful.
One clue I have found is that there is a Elizabeth London Rose (?maiden name London?) buried in Trevathan Cemetery in Calloway Co. Could this be the female 15-20 (she lived 1824-1880)?
Anyone with info on this William London, or Elizabeth London Rose please email me or write back. The person born in 1834 in KY was also William London. He married a Jane (?Oldham) from MO, and my great-grandfather was their child, James Pinkney London who came to Texas 1890-1900.
Thanks,
