Dear Denise,
Sorry, I can't help you with Adalisa, but I'm wondering if you could put me on the right track looking for some Dunns. Joseph Dunn married Jane Long in 1778 in Tryon (Rutherford) county NC. He was a soldier in the Rev. War, and his pension app states that he left Rutherford County and moved to Georgia for 14 years before coming to Caldwell, KY. He died in Calloway County. It looks to me like your family may be their grandchildren. Joseph's brother Alexander lived in Georgia, as well, but I don't think he came to KY. However, some of the names you mentioned in your query ( Mackey, Cherry, Freeman, and Gilkey) appear in the early Rutherford County NC records. Maybe we have a large family wagon train here? I haven't done any real research on this branch of the family yet and everything I've seen in a cursory search of WFT is too sketchy. Can you fill me in? Or at least point me in the right direction? Jane Long Dunn was my 4xgreat aunt.
