Niles O. Dillingham, 90, of Dawson Springs, died Monday, April 21, 2008, at 4:53 a.m. at Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson.
Born Aug. 13, 1917, in Caldwell County, a son of the late Edd M. and Bessie Ausenbaugh Dillingham, he was owner and publisher of the Dawson Springs Progress. A World War II Army veteran having served in the South Pacific, he was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church of Madisonville.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Norris M. Dillingham; a sister, Doris Dockery; and a son, Jed Dillingham, who died Nov. 12, 2007.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Pollyanna Orange Dillingham; a son, Scott Dillingham of Dawson Springs; two grandchildren, Robert Dillingham and Mandy Dillingham; and a sister, Mana Little of Farmville, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 23, at 2 p.m. at Beshear Funeral Home with Elder Jeff Winfrey officiating.
Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs with military rites conducted.
Pallbearers will be Robert Dillingham, Jon Harned, Donnie Egbert, Harry Campbell, John Pat Rhody and Kent Dillingham.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Wednesday at the funeral home.
