John Bruce McNeal, 57, of Eldersburg, Md., died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md., after a long illness.
Born Oct. 1, 1950, in Louisville, he was a son of Don Frank McNeal of Princeton and Okeechobee, Fla., and the late Doris Bierbaum McNeal.
A graduate of The Kings College in Briarcliff, N.Y., and an information technology specialist for the Social Security Administration, he was a member of Winfield Bible Chapel, Concordia Lodge No. 13 AF&AM and the Harley Owners Group of Elkridge, Md., past president of St. Andrews Society of Baltimore, captain of Maryland Loyalist Battalion, member of a Revolutionary War re-enactors group and member of Beaver Lodge, a group of masonic re-enactors.
Survivors in addition to his father include his wife, Grace Elizabeth Golden McNeal; stepmother, Mary Grace McNeal of Princeton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Shawn David and Heather McNeal of Columbia, Md., and Evan Ross McNeal of Eldersburg, Md.; a brother, Scott Edward McNeal of Bristol, Conn.; two stepbrothers, Bill French of Mayfield, Tim French of Princeton; and four stepsisters, Susan Hatfield of Kingwood, Texas, Judy Griffin of Princeton, Diane Marks of Fulton, and Nancy French of Hopkinsville.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 12, at 11 a.m. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd., Winfield, Md., with the Rev. Kim Gee of Winfield Bible Chapel officiating.
Burial followed at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Woodbine, Md.
