Katie East, 72, of Princeton, died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at 4:50 a.m. at Princeton Health and Rehab, following a short illness.
A babysitter and member of Calvary Baptist Church she was born April 21, 1935, in Caldwell County, a daughter of the late Homer Blane and Hettie Belle Hall McKinney.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Charles McKinney.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Noble East; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jan and Larry Offutt of Hanson and Sandy East of St. Joseph, Ill.; four grandchildren, Katie Offutt, Kelly Offutt, Jaima Cunningham, and Jessica Offutt; two brothers, Stanley McKinney and J.B. McKinney, both of Princeton; three sisters, Wanda Palmer of Caldwell County, Loretta Hyde and Freda Oakley, both of Cadiz; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 15, at 11 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
The Rev. Rodney Wallace will officiate the service for Mrs. East.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. (Princeton, Ky.)
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, Greenwood Courtyard, 2425 Scottsville Rd., Ste.123, Bowling Green, Ky. 42104-4457.
