Services for Mary Hazel Merrick, Route 3, Princeton, were held Monday, May 14, at 2:00 p.m. at Morgan's Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Sivells officiating, assisted by the Rev. Tim Shutt.
Burial was in Merrick Cemetery. (Caldwell Co., Ky.)
Mrs. Merrick, age 85, died Sunday, May 13, at 4:30 a.m. in Caldwell County Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Trigg County, she was born April 12 1905, the daughter of the late Richard and Ninnie Watkins P'Pool. Mrs. Garrett was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include six sons, Thomas Merrick, Archie Merrick, and Randall Merrick, of Caldwell County, James Merrick, and Don Merrick, of Graves County and Richard Merrick, of Anamosa, Iowa; six daughters, Pearl Dixon, of Henderson, Aline Woods, of Trigg County, Lillian Hale, of Hopkinsville, Ellouise Mitchell, of Caldwell County, Catherine Keefer, of Richmond, Va. and Linda Harrell, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one brother, Johnny P'Pool, of Trigg County; a sister, Madaline Oliver of Princeton; 30 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Her husband, William Thomas Merrick, and a daughter, Mildred Mitchell, preceded her in death.
Pall bearers were Bobby, Jason, Darryl, Todd, Tim, Trent, and Rick Merrick, Tom Dixon, Sheldon Harrell, Roger, Bill, Harvey, and Jim Mitchell, Lawrence, and Willard Wallace, Brad, and Bruce Keefer
