Mrs. Frances Merrick, 79, of Princeton, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at 10:50 p.m. at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, following a short illness.

A member of Second Baptist Church of Princeton and retired employee of the Princeton Hosiery Mill, she was born Sept. 21, 1925, in Caldwell County, a daughter of the late Floyd James Wilson, who died April 6, 1991, and Bertha Belle Hyde Wilson, who died March 21, 1981.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Huell Merrick, who died March 10, 2003; and a brother, Earl Wilson.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Kim Merrick of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; a grandson, Brandon Merrick; a granddaughter, Cara Merrick; three brothers, Robert Wilson of Hopkinsville, Floyd Wilson Jr. of Nortonville and Kenneth Wilson of Slaughters; five sisters, Elizabeth Swatzell and Joan Lowery, both of Princeton, Virginia Gilbertson of Chesterton, Ind., Martha Goodaker of Gary, Ind., and Linda Moore of Hopkinsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton. The Rev. Darrell Eldridge will officiate the service.

Burial will follow in Merrick Cemetery in Caldwell County, Ky.
