My mother, Callie June New was born and raised in Breathitt Co. I've found info on her paternal line (New & Strong) through Carolyn Strong and Stephen Bowling; but I'm having trouble finding anything on her maternal line.
My grandmother's name was Edna Alice Lawson, b.12/25/1899-d. 03/1939, daughter of Alex (Alexander) Lawson and GeorgeAnn Tackett. Edna married Levi New, b. 12/05/1894-d. 10/1987 (s/o James New and Susan Strong), Apr 20, 1916.
They had ten children:

I believe Alex's father's name was Travis. I was told that they were originally from Morgan or Menefee counties, but haven't been able to find them on any census.
