I have posted the Turner line. If you click onto flat view you should be able to see the whole thing. It was to long for one post. I will post the Herald lines within the next few days. If you have any questions let me know. Let me know if this helps any. Do you know an Olaf Turner? He is the son of Curly Sam Turner

I believe you might be mistaken about Thomas Turner's birthplace.

Thomas Turner's dad Jesse was born in North Carolina. So was his Mom, Sarah. So was his wife, Alezelen. So, if Thomas was supposedly born in Tennessee, why did he go to North Carolina? The rest of the line all migrated from Virginia, to North Carolina, to Kentucky (i.e., "go west, young man").

So I have to question it. I have Thomas as being born in Kentucky, but its more likely he was born in North Carolina, hence the meeting of his wife Alezelen.

Thomas' birthdate was 1813, and Alezelen's was 1815.

Thomas Turner was born in Tennesse. I have never seen proof he was born any where else. Dates for any of them are not exact. Everyone has guestimated as too when they were born. Most of the info was taken from censuses. They are never the same. Jane Herald was b orn in North Carolina, she and her parents migrated through Tennesse then on to Kentucky

You also have to remember when you are tracing people from state to state, the states did not look like they do now. They were sectioned and resectioned. Parts of what were Virginia became parts of North Carolina, and parts of Virginia became parts of Pennsylvania. Both the Turner Family and the Herald Family migrated through Tennesse. It is a well documented fact. You have to keep in mind the Herald family/ Harrold family were disowned for marrying out of faith. If you can get a hold of the books on Breathitt it discusses both the Turner Family and the Herald family. There is a genealogy website that discusses Alexander Herald and Elizabeth Turner traveling through Tennesse in route to Kentucky. It talks about them coming by wagon with their children and a slave, who's children were believed to have been fathered by Alexander Herald Jr. I am hard pressed to remember which website. It has to do with Breathitt County.

In the 1860 census Thomas Turner is listed as being born in Tennesse in 1813. In the 1870 census Thomas Turner is listed as being born in 1810 in Tennesse. In the 1880 census Thomas Turner is listed as being born in 1802 in Tennesse. You have to give any birth date unless you have a birth registry five years leniency. You will encounter a multitude of dates. As I have said it's a guestimate of when these people were born. I used the 1870 census. Use what you like.

There is a well of information on the Turner-Herald lines on www.kykinfolk.com/breathitt. Click onto the cemetary link or google Turner Cemetary Breathitt Ky. www.kykinfolk.com will come up as a link to the cemetary listings. These cemetary listings provide a wealth of information on the family. If you go to the Herald Cemetary you will find the listing for Alexander Herald and Elizabeth Turner Herald. There are several Herald cemetaries listed so go to the first one. I would suggest exploring all of them. Most of them have Turners and Heralds buried on them. Hope this helps.
