You're still here after nine years! Ha..
If you review and or read the various posts I have made in the Hallock board, here:
http://boards.ancestry.com/searchResults.aspx?db=mb&gss=...You will find reference to a research manuscript by an unknown person detailing the legacies Benjamin Hallack left to his children, including Jacoby, plus details of real estate deeds that occurred for nearly two decades after his death (in 1823) - of which there were many. Benjamin was apparently a wealthy man for the times, I have recently found the original of his will at familysearch.org. But I gave up reading it - I guess I am getting too lazy in my old age. If someone else wants to take a whack at reading and transcribing will in digital form, some folks might find that useful.
The PDF of the research manuscript by an unknown person is - do you need an ancestry subscription to get to this page? If a subscription is required to get to this page, let me know.

Yes, I have found Jacoby Hallock listed as a lawyer in Warren County, OH at the same time as Thomas Corwin, future governor was a lawyer there. Which makes the potential tie of the Kentucky Hallacks to the Jesse & Matthias Corwin families very ripe for continued work. See Mary (Conn) Hallack's obituary which said she was the aunt of Thoms Corwin. How is she an Aunt? Could she be an aunt by marriage - could Patience Hallock, the mother of Gov Thomas Corwin be a sister to Benjamin Hallack, Mary Conn's husband?

I didn't know he was in the Ohio Legislature. Matthias Corwin was an Ohio representative for ten years and was a speaker of the house in a couple of those years. He was the father of the future Thomas Corwin, governor of Ohio.
Actually, the records I have found show that the family kind of spread all over the place. His widow removed back to Bourbon Co, KY for the 1850 - 1880 census (but not found in 1870?). She was with her sister-in-law, Rachel Thurston, staying in Rachel's hotel (Rachel showed Real Estate in 1850 = $8,500, in 1860, she showed real estate (presumably the hotel) = $40,000, and personal property = $20,000 which would have consisted the value of both slaves and the personal property in the hotel.
Of her daughters, Mary moved back to Bourbon Co, KY, Susan moved out to Marion Co, Indiana, and Rachel returned to Bourbon Co, KY. I don't believe any of his children stayed in Ohio. Am I missing a child?
Would be interested to know of what records you have for Jacoby dieing in Illinois. Was he living there or on a trip? He was in the 1830 census in Warren Co, OH, can't find in 1840 - do you have him in 1840? Then, Lucinda a widow in 1850 and later.
