I am diligently wanting to be in contact with anyone researching the Wilson or Willson lineage in Bourbon County Kentucky prior to 1820 so it may help me eliminate other Wilson names not pertaining to mine in Bourbon County. I will gladly share information with anyone on this matter.

Thank you

Right now I'm researching a bunch of Wilsons (Willson), who came from Washington Co., PA/Wheeling, WV, to what was Fayette Co., KY, by 1789. Their origin, I think, was in New Jersey. Names were Abner, Jeremiah, Uriah, David, Thomas, and Joseph. By 1810 they were in Montgomery and Fayette Counties, as well as Bourbon. These may be related to my ancestor James Jolliff. I also have an interest in William Wilson, living 1810 in Bourbon Co., whose daughter Mary married, in 1791 in Bourbon Co., Samuel Faulkner, an uncle of mine. I don't think there's any connection from William to the others I named.

I have no connection to your William Wilson. My earliest Wilson, Benjamin b. 1788 VA had a son William but was born in 1815. My Benjamin Wilson married Mary Coffman 1810 in Bourbon Co, KY> If you write me an email I will respond with links to my pages for you to browse if you like.

I have been looking for a THADDEUS WILSON for well over 15 years. My ggg grandfather - ADAM H WILSON was born about 1825. He may have had a brother AJ or ANDREW JACKSON. My mother was told that ADAM"S father's name was THADDEUS. We have no proof. ADAM lived in Knox County Indiana but may have been born in ILLINOIS or some other place. Have you ever run across a THADDEUS WILSON? THANKS
Peg

Hi, Paul. I have been doing research on the descendants of Jeremiah Wilson, Sr. This Jeremiah was born in NJ about 1740. I think he was the son of John Wilson (John Wilson died in Berkeley County, VA about 1783). Jeremiah had many brothers, including one named Thomas. I also believe that Jeremiah's sons were named Uriah Sr., Joseph Sr., Jeremiah Jr. James B., and John Wilson. A number of Wilsons from this line had adjacent farms on the 1810 census for Clark County, KY. However, Abner is not among them. Some others (David, Uriah and Joseph Wilson) appear on the 1810 census for Montgomery County, KY. I believe that my direct ancestor was this Uriah, the son of Joseph Wilson Sr. (Joseph died in Clark County about 1796). This probably isn't much help, but I thought I would pass it on.

My previous e-mail is very outdated and there are a number of inaccuracies. I believe that my g-g-great grandfather, Henry N. Wilson, was the son of the Uriah Wilson who married Mary Newkirk. I have an excerpt from a Power family bible that states that Uriah's father was Joseph Wilson, a revolutionary soldier in PA. This Joseph Wilson did not die in Clark County in 1796. I believe he appears next to Uriah and David Wilson on the 1810 census for Montgomery Countyy, KY. The 1810 census for Clark County shows the Wilsons in alphabetical order, not in order of where they lived. As it stands right now, I am having significant difficulty sorting out the Jeremiahs and Josephs in KY and I do not have any proof that my Joseph was related to the Jeremiah Sr. mentioned in my previous e-mail. Nor can I connect that particular Jeremiah Sr. to the John Wilson who died in 1783 in Berkeley County, VA. I do know that there were related Wilsons (Jeremiah, Abner, Uriah, David, Thomas and Joseph) who served in the Henry Graham militia in Western PA and they are probably related to the Wilsons who were in the Fayette, Bourbon, Clark and Montgomery counties of KY in the mid 1780s and early 1800s. -- Rob
