SOSBY/MOORE CONNECTION ?

TRYING TO FIND SOME INFORMATION ON MY GG GRANDFATHER ELI
SOSBY. I CANNOT FIND ANY INFORMATION ON ELI'S PARENTS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS THAT ELI'S REAL NAME
(LAST NAME) IS MOORE AND THAT HE WAS ADOPTED BY SOSBY'S.
BUT I CANNOT FIND ANY PROOF OF THAT EITHER. I DO NOT EVEN
KNOW WHEN ELI WAS BORN. I DO KNOW THAT HE MARRIED A NANCY
HILL. AND THAT THEY AT LEAST HAD ONE SON JESSE MY GREAT
GRANDFATHER WHO WAS BORN IN 1894. JESSE MARRIED A BESSIE
LEE MORELAND WHO PRODUCED MY GRANDFATHER LEONARD AVERY
SOSBY. THAT IS ALL OF THE INFO I HAVE ON MY "SOSBY" FAMILY.
I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL FOR ANY HELP.
THANK-YOU
D.A. SOSBY

Hello,
I am a SOSBE various spellings - researcher for several years now. Sosebee is the French spelling of Shrewsbury - as we connected by marriage to the Ruel family from Paris France - who came into Canada and into northern states of
America very early. We do connect to the Avery family -
and we do connect to the KY families - and I enter names into my data bank - & collect clues and data --- and this is the first I've heard of your connection - but I will keep the info in my mind as I go next week on a long trip - into Mid-west ...
I live in CT. I will go online - to message board periodically
and follow any new information ... that's the best I can do this year. E-mail me at PGRIFFINPATSY@aol.com if you want to --- I answer mail usually every morning. Thanks Patsy

Hello, boy you through a real twist in that family tree....hehehe. But, that could be one reason I only have Eli's mothers name and no father, I thought she just had a baby and the dad wasn't around. I show Eli's name and William Elias Sosby born 11/22/1864, his mother was Selina Sosby. She was born around 1843 in Nicholas Co., Ky. I have a lot more information on this if you would like. I will also recheck and make sure on my notes wheather she acually bore him. Please email me at rereze@insightbb.com or call me 859-294-8524.

Thanks

Hi,

Not sure you are still on and find this but I have a lot of the Sosbe info. my gr gr grandfather was Archibald, son of Thomas and Sebena. I and other cousin had traced them back to Jamestown Va in the 1600s. they came from England, 3 brothers, James, Francis, Thomas and they spelled it Sowersby. I'm sure there are mistakes in mine but I try and trace all the info,
if you want anyone can email me at janetelainetoo@yaho.com
