Mr. Atherton.. I have recently moved to a campground in Aberdeen, Ohio. We have found a very old and dilapidated cemetery on our campsite that includes approx. 10-12 graves. Only a couple are still readable. I found Janety Atherton, wife of Onesimus Atherton. She died in 1838, a grave that only says, infant child of O. and J. Atherton. Died 3/27/1837, and E.M. Atherton. daughter of Onesimus and Janety Atherton, dates unknown. I have been doing some research on the family and found quite a bit. Thomas Atherton and Margaret(Gibson)Atherton were the parents of 8 children. William, Henry, Joseph, Margaret Ann, Caleb, Thomas, John, and Onesimus. Caleb was born 4/1/1794 in Shippensburg, Pa, and died 5/25/1878 in Aberdeen, Ohio(may be on this plot). He also fought in the war of 1812. He Married Miltilda Ross in 1816 in Pa., and then remarried Nancy Dryden in 1862 in Aberdeen, Ohio. As far as Onesimus..he married Janety Dollings, had at least 3 children, only one listed is William Atherton. Janety died in 1838 at age 30. He then remarried in 1839 to Rachel Gulick. They had at least 3 children, Rachel, Sarah Belle, and Onesimus Gulick Atherton. I hope this is of some help to you. As I would also like to find out more info about the family. Like I said..it is a very small unmarked cemetery at a campground here in Aberdeen, Ohio. If I can be of any more assistance, please contact me. Thank you
