So glad to hear from you about CCC. My mom's mother, Willie Henrietta Fowler, was born in Wickliffe and died and was buried in the mid 1950s, here in Lake County, IL. Willie's, brother, Wilbur P. Fowler, wrote my mother in 1960 and mentioned that he had visited the church and cemetery but found nothing stating specifically: Your great grandparents are buried very near Cane Creek Baptist Church, about 3 miles from Wickliffe. Their graves are lost due to no markers being set. The old grave site is nearly covered with forest.

My mother's great great grandparents were: Richard Henry Fowler, b. Jul 27, 1825, d. Mar 4, 1891 and his wife, Rebecca Jane Snowden, b. Apr 11, 1833, d. Mar 4, 1891.

Based on Wilbur's letter, I'm assuming Richard and Rebecca should be buried in that cemetery.

So sorry to say I have no first hand knowledge about the cemetery except for what Wilbur stated, and as you probably know, I've found nothing on the internet. The Fowlers were immediate kin to:

I heard a couple of years ago that a very old Fowler (a family member) of Paducah was still alive in his 90s, and also was very sharp and had a great memory for detail. Jesse Kemp was his name and possibly you can contact him. If you do, I'd be most appreciative if you could let me know how to contact him myself.

I have no pictures or knowledge of the cemetery at all, nor do i even know how to find it. I would greatly appreciate any info/pictures you have on it. Too bad the current residents of the church have taken no interest in it. That's sad.

In regard to the work you are doing, I can't say enough about the hard work you're putting in and not only how much I appreciate this work, but certainly your community, county and state must appreciate it also.
