I am looking for information on Samuel R Baker and his descendents. Iantha Baker, born abt Aug 1859 in Anderson county Kentucky (m. Thomas H Barriger)is my GGGmother. Her father is Richard S Baker and mother listed as Mollie George on her death certificate.

In the 1850 census there is a fmily of 9 Bakers again in Anderson county (Samuel and Eliza - parents, children? Charles, Richard, John, Dandridge, Martha, Jesse, William).

The 1840 Anderon County Census lists Samuel R Baker with 2 children under age 5 (John Thomas and Richard S), 1 child age 5-9 (Charles R E), 1 male age 30-39 (Samuel R Baker), 1 female age 30-39 (Eliza?) and 4 slaves.

I lose the family prior to this point.


In 1860 Samuel R and wife Eliza are found with children John Thomas, William, Martha, and Theodore in Andreson Co, KY. In the 1870 census the family is found in Ballard County, KY. In 1880, R S Baker with wife Mary "Mollie" and child Iantha Baranger = Barriger with husband Thomas H are in Bowie, Texas.
