I am looking for information on the following family:
Henry Hardin (Harding, Harden)b. 1800-1810 married
Catherine (Cassy) McManaway (McMannaway, McMinimy, McManis etc.) b. abt 1816.
They married in 1831 in Anderson County. The witness on the bond was Gabriel Deal.
Catherine was the daughter of William McMinimy and Barbara Lewis. Barbara later married John Leathers in Anderson Co. She was the daughter of William and Betsey (unknown maiden name) Lewis.
Their first daughter, Elizabeth Hardin, was born in Lawrenceburg Oct 3, 1833. Their son, William, may have been born in Anderson county about 1836.
The family later moves to Harrison, Franklin and Jefferson counties in Kentucky and finally to Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa.
There is a Powell Hardin found on the 1830 Anderson County census who laters moves to Laurel County, Kentucky and then to Chariton County, Missouri. Powell was born about 1802 in Virginia and married Susannah. I believe he was a close relative of Henry Hardin, perhaps a brother. Henry and a man named Lemuel Cook witnessed a land purchase by Powell in 1834.
There is also a James D. Hardin in Anderson county who witnessed a will for James Gill in 1836. James Hardin married Susan H. Withers in 1843 in Anderson county. James and Susan later move to Mercer county.
Any additional input regarding this family would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you ~ Roberta
