RITES FRIDAY FOR W. B. PATTESON
Former Sheriff of Adair County Succumbs to Long Illness At Home Here.
INTERMENT IN CITY CEMETERY
William Baker Patteson, 70 years of age, died early Thursday afternoon at his home on Jamestown Street after having been ill for several months.
Mr. Patteson was a former Sheriff in Adair County and belonged to one of the older and more prominent families of this section. He was born and reared in the Montpelier community, being a son of the late Capt. O. B. Patteson and Mary Russell Patteson. With the exception of a few years the deceased had spent his entire life in Adair County where he leaves many friends and relatives by whom he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kate Frazer Patteson; one son, T.O. Patteson, Lebanon; two grandchildren, T.O. Patteson Jr., and Catherine Patteson; a sister, Mrs. Luther Williams, Cave City, and a brother, J.F. Patteson, of this place.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at the Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. R.E. Reeves. Interment was in the City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were J.P. Kelsay, Melvin Blair, O.A. Taylor, J.L. Walker, R.B. White and Stewart Hutchison.
Honorary pallbearers were Horace Jeffries, George F. Stults, H.T. Baker, C.R. Hutchison, T.E. Waggener, L.B. Hurt, Fred Davis and Joe M. Barnes.
Among those from out-of-town attending the funeral were: Dr. and Mrs. O.P. Miller, W.W. Edwards, James Edwards and son, Miss Mary Miller and S.J. Cabell, Louisville; Mr. and Mrs.
Cyrus Williams and daughter, Dix Dam; Miss Mary Williams and Miss Martha Hays, Cave City.
W.O. Penick, Mrs. Owen Penick and daughter, Pilson Smith, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Burris, Miss Flora Cabell, Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Cabell, Mrs. Robert Cabell, Mrs. J.T. Cabell, Frazer Cabell, Greensburg; O.P. Willis, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Robinson, Campbellsville, and Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Welch, Hazard.
