John Faubus – Name sometimes written Faubes, Forbes, Faubush, Revolutionary War soldier. French extraction. Settled early last century on Pond Creek, tributary of Rockcastle River, present Laurel County, Kentucky. Two sons were Isaac and Hugh. Ancestor of Govrnor Orval Faubus, of Arkansas. Members of the famaily migrated to Arkansas after Civil War.
