I have found records on both sides of my family on a census dated 1870. My gggrandfather Granville Smith married Minerva ? They are 60 yrs old on the 1880 census found in Kansas. Apparently they had at least two daughters Irene Smith and Sheffer Smith who married brothers, John and Hawkins (Hock) Thomas, my ggrandfather. The census has been narrowed down to Scott County, KY. They later are found in Kansas and Arkansas. How difficult is it to locate the slave owner and if there are addtional siblings? Any help would be appreciated.
