The 1870 Census, Miami Co. Stanton Twp.
Wicker, Harmon/Hermon A. 43 m w Blacksmith NC
Amanda E. 42 f w Keeping house Ind
Sylvester F. 18 m w Hotel Clerk Ind
Viola 14 f w At home Ind
Kirkland, Jannie age 8 f w b. Kansas
Is anyone familar with this census? I have a little Kirkland girl whose mother Sarah (McMullin) Kirkland died 1865-1870 & her father Robert H. Kirkland is living in Vernon Co. MO without his three children. On the KS 1865 census the little girl is named O.J. Kirkland. Her middle name could be Jane. The above census is very likely the little girl I am looking for.
The 1875 KS State Census, Coffey Co., Burlington. (this is 2 counties away from Miami Co. KS)
Wicker, H. A. 48 m w Blacksmith NC to KS from IN
Amanda E. 48 f w IN to KS from IN
Viola 18 f w IN to KS from IN
Jannie/Jennie 12 f w IN to KS from IN
Interesting..... Jannie/Jennie is listed as a Wicker by the census taker and he notes that she is born in Indiana.
Appreciate any feedback. I have been trying to find the three children of Sarah McMullin for the years 1875-1880. Thanks............ Marysue
