I was digging through my Grandma Alice (Mack) Turner's boxes and came across a photograph of several boys in what appear to be some sort of Scouting attire. After a little digging through census records, I figured out these boys at one time were students of the Kansas School for the Blind in KCK in Wyandotte County. This would make sense as Alice's sister Mae worked there for many years.

I believe the picture to be taken in the early 30s judging by the approximate age of the kids and their ages on the 1930 census. The kids I located on that census living at the School were all born in either Kansas or Missouri. Their birth years were mostly in the late teens or early 20s.

I'll post the names of the students that are listed on the back of the photo. If anyone recognizes a name and wants a copy of the picture, I'll be happy to send you one.

(front row) Robert, Redd, Tommy Moss, Dale Walker, Raymond Hards, Paul Cochran, A.G. Williamson (teacher), Jess Layton, Cecil Freeman, Pat Garrahan, Eugene Vogel, Kermit Millen, Eugene Fiedler, Ramon Tejeda, Jack Parli, Leo Thomas, Marion Beal, Harold Vogel and Wayne Primrose.

I have other photos of students at that school. I'll take a look at them and see if there are others with names listed.
