Thank you so very much, I am going to try that and see if it helps me. I was unable to go to the library today as my Father had a tooth pulled and I was staying home to watch over him, but so far he is doing fantastic, he is 87 years old and a very young 87 years old.
I do not belong to any ancestry sites on the internet, mainly I use what is available and see what happens. I am a professional researcher and do research in all areas, and I am very familiar with Louisiana families. Also, I have seen some genealogy information on the internet that I know is wrong, and I try to correct it whenever I see errrors.
The Peacock family that I am researching I know is originally from the STate of Georgia, and they moved to the State of Kansas. I think that this migration was caused by the aftermath of the Civil War and they wanted a better life out west. As far as Juanita Amerman going from Georgia to Texas to Kansas, she was married to a contractor and they traveled around quite a bit due to his work and she was probably traveling with her husband, Melvin, on various different jobs.
I go on ancestry.com and rootsweb.com and I have found plenty information on both sites that is reliable. I know that Melvin Amerman comes from the Nebraska Territory and he was born circa 1883 so that should not be too hard due to the sparse population in Nebraska at that time, I think that the Amerman family came here to the US with the old Dutch and originally comes from New York and descends from Jan Derrick Amerman.
I deeply appreciate your assisting me with this research and I look forward to hearing from you soon, thank you so very much for all your help, kitty
