Sunday Evening, August 5, 2007,
Pat,
Thank you so very much for answering my query about the Amerman's. It is very interesting, and I have no idea what Juanita was doing in Texas while her husband was going to school, I found out that he was attending school in Carlyle, Kansas, in Allen County, Kansas and Melvin Amerman was living with the Eastwood family as a boarder. By 1915, Melvin Amerman owned a home with a mortgage and their daughter, Louise was nine months old and I found out that Louise Amerman was born on the date of May 9, 1914. I do know that Juanita Amerman had a sister, but I do not know her name. Also, I have found out there was in Sumer County, Kansas a Henry Amerman, who was married to Ida Parker in Sumer County in 1895, a Joseph Amman in 1888, and Julian Amman whose wife was Cora Priest in 1889, but I do not know if any of these other Amman or Amerman's are related to Melvin.
I have no idea what Juanita Amerman was doing in Texas, it is possible that she could have been living with her sister, or I know that Melvin was a highway contractor and he traveled around the country employed as a highway contractor to build highways and Juanita and the children would move wih him. I know that the three Amerman children were raised in boarding schools, and that Louise, the daughter, was a graduate of Wesley in Massachusettes and she majored in physics. Also, I do know that Juanita Amerman on holidays like Christmas liked to spend the holiday time in a hotel in some large city and take a trip on the holiday and not be at home.
This is interesting, and I thank you so very much for answering my query. I wonder if Charles and Isabelle Porter knew Melvin and Juanita Amerman, they must have.
I will let you know how I make out with the research here is my private email address,
