They registered for WWI draft in Stevens County in 1917-1918. Descended family is later found in Garden City and Liberal, KS.

Hi, my maiden name is Popelka. I am getting ready to go to a Popelka reunion at the Wisconsin Dells. I have been getting material ready so I can up date all my relatives.

My father, George Popelka, 87 years old, had an aunt, called Blanch, married a man call Pfeifer(wasn't sure about the spelling, that left Chicago and moved to Kansas. He thought they went for the land rush and he thought the city was Rolla.

If this is any help to you, I can supply you with info on the Popelka family. I hope so, that would tickle my dad. He will be 88 in Dec. He still bowls three times a week, goes off 2 or 3 times a week to play cards. He has out lived 3 wives and is bringing his girlfriend to the reunion. He has been most helpful on the family information.

I have a copy of Frances E Pfeifer obit. that states she is the

Saw your message to Carl Nemecek and was wondering if he was able to give you any info on the Pfeifer family. I had contact with him at one time (about 4 yrs ago) but have moved since and he had posted a message asking I get in contact with him in regard to the Schmidt family (which was my maiden name) but no response. I am looking for the Pfeifer Family. My aunt, Teresa Popelka from Chicago,married a Pfeifer. I was told they settled in Bolla, Kansas.Late 1800's or early 1900's. My father mentioned a land rush.
