I am researching the events surrounding the County Seat War and have uncovered several new bit of information. I will publish this when I feel there is enough to really add to the mountain of material already put out.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who knows any family stories or other bits of "inside" information. I have particularly noticed many relatives of Sheriff John M. Cross have posted here as several posts about Woodsdale Cemetery.

The biography of Jeff Willis in the book "A Standard History of Kansas and Kansans" mentions his being in the haying crew at Wild Horse Lake. Does anyone know more about this?
