How can this be updated? My information is on here but my Sister and I would like to add our current information and information about our children. We are also trying to find current information on a couple of family members you have listed here. Is there a way to update this? Who is the person who created this Gensler family tree? I would like to say thank you! Because of this board I was able to find my Sister who I had never met and had no information about. This board is the only reason I found her! I didn't even know her name. Thanks. Wendy Ann Gensler. Daughter of Claude Lester Gensler Jr. & Lora J. Williams

we heard that Orlie ran off with the neighbor girl, and Gert spent the next several years in the family home trying to make ends meet. I gather she took in a lot of sewing.

Hi again -

I do not know the date of their divorce. However, I know that Gertrude left Orlie due to an affair that he was having with the neighbor. I do believe Safety Harbor is correct though.

Thanks and take care.

It's very nice to hear from you. I haven't been as active with research the last couple of years because I lost my entire genealogy program when my computer crashed after a major power surge.

My WorldConnect genealogy file is called "cjlaird". The information is current as of about 2 years ago. If there is anything you want to add to a particular person, it can be accomplished by means of a "post-it" function on the individual person pages.

If you live in Florida around the area where Orlie & Gertrude lived, which I think was Safety Harbor, I would very much like to know the date and location of divorce in 1928 or 1929 when Gertrude finally filed for divorce from Orlie so that she could marry Mr. Coleman.

Thanks for sending through the greeting. Please give our best to your grandma and the rest of the family.
I am searching for the record of the marriage of Howard N. Brown to Ida M Graham. About 1915-1918. He was the son of Rev. Edwin Brown of Hutchinson. Ida M. Graham was born in Cleveland, Cuya. Co. Ohio 1895 to Wilbert Graham. In 1912 she is shown as a student in Hutchinson. I do not know where they were in 1920, but 1930 they had gone on to Erie Co., Pa. SS says his last residence was Hutchinson, dying May 1968. I would like also his obit.
jhoppy9@cox.net

Hello Carol!

My name is Dan Cook, and I recently married the former Karen Weber Towers, now Cook. Her father was Bernard Francis Weber Jr., and grandfather was Bernard Sr.

She has pictures of Sr., and apparently received a check following his death..but was not involved in the transaction per se, to know who from, etc. She just got a check, didn't even know who to thank, apparently..She never knew her grandfather, Bernard Sr...but does have questions about him..Who he was, what he was like, etc..Certainly understandable!

If you'd like, you can email me back, or message me...Maybe it's time for this family to learn about each other! So much time has passed since you posted this, I don't know if you're even still connected here.

Dan Cook
Thank you. Since Elizabeth Covert can be found last living in St. Louis with her sister, Ellen, as listed in the St. Louis Directory for 1912, it would seem that she married either later that year or afterwards - up to 1918 when she died. I believe I previously checked with the Reno County Genealogical Society a while back about any more info on these two Covert women, but I'll have to review my notes to see if I made a notation as such.
Thank you so much for all of the replies! With Christmas and a trip now behind me, I hope to now get back to my genealogy research.

Upon quick review from what you sent, it seems that by error Cloe was more like 11 months in 1925 Kansas census rather than "11" [years] as recorded. Therefore, that might indicate there were no descendants from Edward's first marriage to Elizabeth Stewart. I'll look at this in more detail to confirm what you found.

My biggest interest is in Edward's first wife (if there wasn't any prior to Elizabeth Covert). I have to wonder how she ended up marrying someone from Reno County, Kansas, when she and her family lived in St. Louis.

Thank you again.

Carol

I have found various spelling, including Easling, Easland and Easterling. It is a Norman name. Probably first settled in France, then in 10th century went over to England.
I just posted my Easling tree. Would like to compare notes.
Do you know anything more about pre- Australia?
Margaret Easling
in California

Wow, Karen, sorry that took so long. I just found the message.
I also just entered the Easling family tree that goes back to John George Easling or Easland who settled in West Stockbridge, Mass. in 1700s. Would like to compare notes with you. We're probably related. I think he came from England, though not sure yet. Just email me.
Margaret Easling megallaz@gmail.com
in California

That would be wonderful. Send me a private email and we can make arrangements to get it to you. There are over 8,000 names in this book! I am thrilled that it will be able to be searched and go to a good home. Thanks

If you would let me have it, I would be happy to scan the pages and place it on my Reno Co. website: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ksrenohp/ That way it would be online and accessible to anyone who has Internet.

I would add the surnames under each page so that they could be picked up in the search engine.

Then I could either return the book to you, or I could give it to the Oklahoma History Center--they have quite a large section of Kansas county histories and other books.

WWII Book being offered to any local family

I have a book that was written by Fred Henney and complied by the Bob Campbell VFW Post #1361, Hutchinson, KS in 1947. It has lists of all Reno County solders (8,346)that died or served in WWII, with lots of photos and detailed information. I would love to see this book go to a local library or a family who would share it. Let me know your family members name or the name and contact information for a library in the area and I will see if he/she is in this book and then we can make arrangement's to get it mailed.

Stewart-Covert couple in Hutchinson, Reno County

Does anyone have information on Edward Stewart, wife Elizabeth nee Covert, or Ellen Covert as listed below:

Find-a-grave for Langdon Maple Hill Cemetery in Reno County reveals -

Elizabeth Stewart - wife of E.S. Stewart
b. 1874 d. 1918
Ellen Covert
b. 1856 d. 1922

These two women seem to match -

1920 census (2 years after Elizabeth died)
Hutchinson, Ward 6, Dist 183, Reno Co., Kansas
Edward Stewart - head - 47yrs - widowed - PA/PA/PA
Ellen Covert - sister-in-law - 65yrs - single - MO`/NY/NJ
Ella Mahoney - niece - 20yrs - single - KS/TN/TN

Prior to that, I believe them to be the same Elizabeth and Ellen Covert as last found living in St. Louis, MO, in 1912 (via directory) and in 1910, 1900, and 1880 census there.

I know nothing about Edward Stewart, but I'm presuming he and Elizabeth married sometime in or after 1912 and before 1918 when she died. From the 1920 census, it appears there were no children for Elizabeth, and Ellen remained single until death.

I'm aware that Kansas state will provide death records to relatives for $15 per copy.
