Dr. Ray Thompson
PHILLIPSBURG — Dr. Ray Thompson, 65, Phillipsburg, died Saturday, April 24, 1993, at Phillipsburg.
Dr. Thompson was born June 2, 1927, at Wichita and was a resident of Phillipsburg since 1952. He was a veterinarian and a member of the First Christian Church, Rotary Club, and rodeo board of directors, all of Phillipsburg. He was past exalted ruler of BPOE, past member of the city council and past president of the school board. He was a member of the Isis Shrine, Kansas State University Alumni board of directors, KVMA and AVMA and was a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.
Survivors include his wife, Majol of the home; three daughters, Amy Gibbs of WaKeeney, Abby Gourley of Sidney, Ohio, and Betsy Prisco of Moreno Valley
Calif.; two sisters, Velma Decker of Gainesville, Fla., and Mary Lou Heckathorn of Topeka; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, Pastor Fred Bacon officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg, with military rites by Myers-Hesler Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1360, Phillipsburg. Memorials may be made to the Huck Boyd Foundation. The casket will remain closed Wednesday. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and until the service Wednesday at the chapel, 1115 Second, Phillipsburg, 67661
