I got a reply from the archive where the population register of Vreeland is kept.
Mum Margaretha van den Berg and sister Johanna Maria Stuffers were registered as incoming on 01 May 1884, they were joined by sister Johanna Cornelia on 04 september 1885. Johanna Cornelia is registered as coming from Haarlem. Mum and sister Johanna Maria are registered as coming from Amsterdam.
As mum and sister Johanna Maria came to Vreeland after our Johanna Margaretha already left for the USA, coming from Amsterdam, I searched the population register of Amsterdam (site of Stadsarchief Amsterdam), hoping and keeping my fingers crossed to find a trace of our Johanna Margaretha.
And there she was...!!!
Here are the movements of Johanna Margaretha Stuffers from 1881 onwards:
04 May 1881: she leaves Haarlem together with her mother and sister Johanna Maria for Loosdrecht.
04 May 1881 - 21 Nov 1882: Loosdrecht, but no trace to be found of any of them
21 Nov 1882: she registers in Amsterdam, together with her mother and sister Johanna Maria, coming from Loosdrecht. Adress in Amsterdam: Nassaukade 21
May 1883: They move next door to Nassaukade 20
18 Feb 1884: Johanna Margaretha registers as leaving for North America. Her mother and sister Johanna Maria register as leaving for Vreeland on 08 May 1884.
So Johanna Margaretha Stuffers registers as leaving for the USA on 18 Feb 1884.
There is no doubt that she is the same person as Johanna Stuffer(...) on the passenger list of the SS Amsterdam, arr. NY 10 Mar 1884.
If you would like to have the scans of the population register of Amsterdam, I can send them to you. They can not be attached here, as they are PDF documents.
