U.P.R.R. PHOTOGRAPH CAR

I have two copies of a photo taken of my Grandmother and her sister Aug
1873. They were 9 years and 3 years old, respectively. I am very pleased
to have the photos of the girls but I thought the photographer's logo on the
back of equal interest. It is a picture of a large railroad car, rather
like a caboose but not. The sides are just a big advertisement as follows:

U.P.R.R. PHOTOGRAPH (Door) CAR
(Windows) J.B. Silvis (?)
STEREOSCOPIC (Picture)
& LANDSCAPE VIEWS PHOTOGRAPHER
of NOTABLE POINTS
on LINE of PACIFIC R.R.
ALWAYS on HAND

I am attaching a copy of the front and back of the photos.

I'm just curious to know if others have photos from this unique 'rolling
studio'?
Having spent a couple of nights in Seneca, I can attest to its still being
an active Railroad town.

The U.P.R.R. Photograph Car was associated with photographer John B. Silvis. See:
