Seeking information about a Union veteran, who served the 7th Kansas Cavalry, Company C by name of Daniel R. B. (Rice Boon) FLORA?   --- D.R.B. FLORA is noted in the 1883 publication by William G. Cutler, "History of the State of Kansas", printed by A.T. Andreas, Chicago, IL as being in what was Osage Indian Territory, in 1868, becoming Montgomery County, KS in 1869 where his niece Harriette A. FLORA was born 1869 as one of few white children born there at that early stage of development from Osage Indian Territory. Daniel FLORA is noted in "History of Labette County, Kansas and its Representative Citizens", (portion about John FLORA) ed. & comp. by Hon. Nelson Case. Pub. by Biographical Publishing Co., Chicago, Ill. 1901, as living in Pueblo, Colorado.   ---- Daniel was born 9 Oct 1838 to John Flora (ca 1800PA-1867IN) and Amanda G. Lentz (1808CT-1861IN) who in 1855 moved to Bartholomew County, IN. Our Our great grandfather, John Flora, ! younger brother to Daniel, was born 5 Sep 1845 in Harrison County, IN died 1934 in Labette County, KS had reportedly served 1862-1865 out of Ft Levenworth as an Army Indian Scout in CO. KS and Indian Territory during Civil War. Afterwards, settling in Lyon County, KS where married Feb 1867, 1st child Clarence Apr 1868 in Wilson County, Sep 1869 dau Harriette A (1886,married Carl R. GRAY, Union Pacific RR. Pres 1920-1939) at Liberty, Montgomery, County and our grandfather Dr. William Walter FLORA in Labette County, KS Nov 1871. Any shared information will be appreciated.
