I am interested in contacting anyone researching African American migrations from Grimes County, TX to Labette County, KS. I am partcularly interested in the group of families with whom my great-grandmother, Charity Brown, may have travelled. Her obit says that she came in 1880, settled in Oswego, then moved to Parsons in 1906. her son, Dennis Brown, married Elvira Mulkey. Elvira is shown in the 1880 census as the niece of Robert and Louisa Walker.
