LENEXA, (JOHNSON CO.) Kan. Ernest Collier, 70, died Monday of pulmonary fibrosis.
He was born in Redbank, Okla., and moved to Oregon when he was 7. He graduated from Turner High School (MARION CO.)and Finlay Engineering College. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after 34 years of service. He worked for Best Communications for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemarie, whom he married in 1952; son, Stephen of Olathe, Kan.; daughter, Shelley Brown of Atlanta; brothers, James, Charles and John, all of Turner,(OREGON) and Clarence of Salem, (OREGON); sisters, Helen Kidd of Cloverdale (OREGON) and Mary Jennings of Aurora, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
Services were at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Entombment was at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements were by Porters Funeral Home.
