Allen Smith died in Kaw Township, Jefferson County, Kansas on 9 November 1871; 9 days after filing for his pension for serving in the War of 1812. He is usually listed as "Allen" but in the 1870 Census he was listed as Richard Smith. I appreciate any assistance on this. Thanks, Peter
