Kathy L. Oestmann, 56, Hoyt, died Thursday. June 26, 2008, at her home after a long illness. She was born Sept. 21, 1951, at Holton, the daughter of Frank Edward “Pinky” and Velma Ramsey Martin. She graduated from Denison High School in 1969. Kathy had worked at Oldham’s Processing Plant, Jackson County Nursing Home and Merry Manor, all in Holton. She had attended Lakeview Faith Chapel at Holton. She married Robert D. Oestmann on Nov. 12, 1980, at Oskaloosa. He died on July 26, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include a son Micheal Moore, Hoyt; a daughter, Jody L. (Danny) Carlisle, Topeka; a brother, Kris (Misty) Martin, Hoyt; two sisters, Susie (James) Webber, Leavenworth, and Kathryn (Dennis) Smith, Valley Falls, and one grandson. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, at the South Cedar Cemetery, four miles south of Denison. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
