Seeking information on the life of Bernard Lee Griffith (1881 - 1970). Bernard Lee was the son of James Remley Griffith. The Griffith family lived on their farm on the headwaters of Bridge Creek in the Curry District of Putnam County, West Virginia. Bernard Lee disappeared from his home circa 1917 and was never seen by his family again. However, recent research has revealed that he registered for the World War I Draft in 1917 at the age of 36 as a resident of Cass County, North Dakota. He listed his residence as Casselton, which is a few miles directly west of the county seat of Fargo. Also, he was listed in the Social Security Death Index as dying in July 1970 as the age of 89 as Garden City, Finney County, Kansas. Any information as to the details of his long life (e.g., his occupation and family) will be greatly appreciated. Bernard Lee Griffith was my father’s brother and my uncle.
