Dear folk
I will try and answer your letter.
Well, it is a little lonesome down here without Russ.
I moved up to the School building last monday. I have to pay 60 cents for a room up here. We get the the light furnished and heat. I expect it would cost more the 10 cents a week for coal. We just ran out of coal before Russ left.
I like it pretty well so far. I am rooming with Karl.
I expect you had better sell Cricket if you can get enough for her for I will need some money.
It has been such nice weather. It makes me feel a little lazy.
I got a letter from Russel this evening. He said he hadn't seen any of you folks yet.
Was you up to Therian's sale? Is he going to move back to town again? Did the the thing sell well?
Have you commenced farming any yet?
How are my hogs getting along?
Well, I will close for this time.
Write soon
Yours truly
George
Editor's Notes:
I don't believe either Karl or Russ are family. Cricket is probably a horse.
Salina is maybe 50 miles south of Concordia.. the nearest "big" town. Not sure what George was doing there, maybe going to a school.
