Does anyone know where Deer Creek Cemetery is located? I know it's in either southern Anderson County or northern Allen County, KS. My ggg grandmother died in/near Colony, Anderson Co., KS on Jan 21, 1889 and the Colony Free Press newspaper clipping says she was buried in Deer Creek Cemetery. I cannot find any info on this cemetery in the Anderson or Allen County histories or cemetery books. Is it no longer in existence or has the name changed since 1889? Any historical society people out there have any ideas or know where it "used" to be located? If it had a name then there had to be more people buried there than just her. I would really like to find it and see if there's anything remaining.

Never mind. I've just found the answer to my own question. Turns out the name was changed to Mt. Zion Cemetery at some point, which is what it's called today. So I know where it's at. Anyway, for anybody who's looking for info on it, it's called Mt. Zion now. It's in Anderson County, KS, north of Lone Elm out in the country.
