I'm hoping someone has a resource to help me find the exact date of my great-grandfather's death. He was b. Dec 1872 in Hordaland, Norway. Came to LaSalle Co. IL in 1885 with his family, then moved on to Iowa with two of his sisters by 1900. He came back to Illinois to marry Marie Kittelson in 1905 and lived the rest of his life near Scarville, Winnebago Co. We visited several years ago and found his headstone in the cemetery at Bethel Lutheran church, whose records were lost in a fire. Information on the county GenWeb site states that no death records from June 1919-1921 are available at the courthouse. Hoping someone has other suggestions for me to find his date of death with hope of eventually finding an obituary. He was alive when the 1920 census was taken at the end of January. Thanks for any help you can give.
