My family was contacted a while back about a knitted shawl done by Etta L. Shriver and given to my Grandmother Ruby B. Gorman. My Grandfather was Peter Gorman and his brother Joseph John Gorman had lived and worked for L. W. Shriver. If their is anyone in the family keeping track of the Shriver family. I need to know if the Gorman brothers were part of the Orphan Trains from New York, and how did they come to be with the Shriver family. Adopted/Indentured and anyother information you have please contact me at [pcrisp@centurytel.net]. All my mother could remember is that Ruby Gorman kept in contact with Etta until her death.
That my grandfather had said he worked for old man shriver in KS, but we need to findout how they got to KS from NY. And if anything is known of their families, when they arrived and when they left. I know I'm asking alot, but this is a dead zone in my family research and anything would be so appreciated (Photos or Doc.'s or memories). Thank You Peter Crisp
