Re: fouser
Sorry to have taken so long to respond, it took me a while to dig out some information. First of all, my e-mail is l.geist@comcast.net. We need to exchange information. What caught my eye was the house photo. I have been to Ellston many times over the last 65 years and my great grandmother Louesa Fouser (William's sister) had a picture of herself in front of that house. I looking but haven't found it yet. The house was located on 160 acres in section 28 of Union township. I have a copy of a biographical sketch of William and his brother John (who lived just west of William)which I assume you already have. Good information on both.
I have a 2ft by 3ft framed "family memorial" of the Jacob and Sarah (Wise) Fouser family including all 12 chrildren with birth dates and locations (and deaths of those before 1885, which is I suspect is the date of the memorial).
Your William shows up with the same dates that you have but shows him born in Stark Co. Ohio, the same as all the other children. It's very difficult to read without a magnifying glass and thus difficult to photocopy.
I'm very interested in your information on Jacob's parents. I have always thought his father was Conrad Fouser who lived close to them in the 1830 Stark Co. Census.
The 1850 and 1880 census show Jacob born in Germany but the 1860 and 1870 census show him born in Penn. I'm interested if you have any definitive info on which is right.
