James H. Barnett was born in TN and died Mar 29, 1844 in Barton Co, MO in a snow storm while returning to his home in Vernon Co, MO. His children, the best I can tell, were Robert, Angerana, Casander, McKinley (Mac), Francis Marion, and Howard. Robert Barnett married Eliza Hudson about 1842. She was the daughter of William P. and Sarah Elizabeth Bingham. Robert and Eliza were both killed in a buggy accident about 1851 in Vernon Co, MO, leaving three children: Sarah Barnett b. abt. 1843, James Barnett b. Abt 1846, and William Polk Barnett b. 1847. William Polk Barnett married Maria Theresa Caroline Caton on June 14, 1870 in Vernon Co, and they then moved to Pottawattamie Co, IA in 1875. At Theresa Caton Barnett's death in 1935, her surviving children were Dr. Ren Barnett, Ralph Barnett, Ray Barnett, Mrs. Frances Jones, Katie Barnett, and Mrs. Cora Cleary.
