Gunellia (Gjerde) Smith, age 96, was born to Ole & Ellen Gjerde in Cylinder, Iowa, on May 30, 1908. She died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on February 18, 2005. Survived by Maurice, her loving husband of 66 years; and daughters, Evelyn (Les) Axdahl, Maurine (Sheldon) Johnson, Karen (Mark) Hyland; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren with a 20th to be born in April. Several nieces and nephews and many friends. Preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Linda Kay; 1 sister and 3 brothers. Memorials preferred to Holy Triune Lutheran Church. Interment Hillside Cemetery. Funeral service Monday, February 21, 11 am at Holy Triune Lutheran Church, 1114 22nd Ave. at Fillmore St. NE, Mpls.
