Hi listers. I am trying to find the brother of my ggg grandfather. His name was Gustav or August Koenk and settled in the Emmetsburg area. I cannot find him listed on census records and am dying to find out any information about him and/or his family. My ggg grandfather was Charles Koenck, who settled in Crawford County, Iowa, and another brother, Otto Koehnk, came over and settled in the Everly, Iowa, area. The three brothers came over at different times, hence the three spellings of the name. I would greatly appreciate any information anyone can give me. Thank you!

Interesting. My grandfathers name was gus and he is the one you are looking for. He passed in the 70's and had 11 children. Would love to know about this family as nobody seems to wanna discuss that stuff.

The Everly Library would have a copy of the history of Everly, lots of Koenck there. My sixth grade teacher, Alvina is married to Ray Koehnk. My aunt was a Myrna Koehnk daughter of Christie and I think Otto. You will find good info in Everly about this family.

I am the Grandson of Otto Koehnk from Everly. He has passed away but my mother, his daughter, has a huge about of catagorized info on the family tree. I will ask her to read your posting.
