Looking for any and all info on this family that settled in PA Co IA in the late 1800's. It appears that some survivors lived in Emmettsburg as late as 1967.

Dear Ron,
hi, Just wanted to ask was there any particular Ludington you were interested in? I have some info, My great grandmother was Susan Ludington she died in Humboldt Co. Iowa in 1896 her children were then farmed out to various Ludingtons in that area. Some were raised by Ludingtons in Palo Alto county. Others in Humboldt and Pocahontes co. My Grandfather was also born in Marengo Iowa in Iowa co Iowa, so there may have been Ludingtons located there also. I went to a Ludington family reunion in spokane Washington in the late 1990's and met many Ludingtons. I have much more information if you are still interested. Lots of census materials, family trees and even some old photos and phone #'s of still living Ludingtons. Don't know if you know or not bu there were some Ludingtons who took a detour to canada for some reason or other and also know that some where born In Ilinois. If you are interested let me know Becky jo

I am searching for the children (7) of Macum and Sarah Jane Miller McCullum who left Hardin Co., KY in approximately 1847. Macum is supposed to have drowned on the trip. Jane went on with her children and two siblings to Davis Co. Iowa. I have located Sarah Ann and William J. and wonder if your McCullum could have been one of these seven children.

Hi, no I don't think it is the same family, but I have found McCullums in Davis Co. Iowa. Just not sure where I found them. I do alot of work on usgenweb.org or maybe familysearch.org this may have been where I found them. Frank McCullum, who I was searching for, I have found. He was the child of Hamilten and Susun (Ludington) McCullum and the grandchild of William and Jane McCollum
( the spelling of the name was changed sometime after 1894)and the great grandchild of Alexander & Susannah McCollum. they all came over to New York From Northern Ireland sometime around the 1850's to Elbridge New York
( Onandoga Co.) then on to Iowa. (Pocahontes/ Humboldt Coo.) Alexander and Jane did have 10 children and William and Jane had 9 but I didn't see a Macum I have also found Mccullums in Apanoose Co. Sac Co. and Clay co ( none related or no connection made so far but maybe for you. Good luck in your search. may find out we are related after all (^:
