Cousin Rita,

Its nice to get a response to a post from a genealogist I am actually related to.I'm a second cousin to the Goeder boys and the Smith children. You and I are second cousins, once removed.

I have all of these names in my family book. Nick and Lucy were my dad's uncle and aunt. Rose was his first-cousin. I am familiar with Eva, although I have not yet met her. My family had a reunion in Emmetsburg last year and I know some Girres and Laubenthals made a special appearance, but I am not sure if Eva was there.

This is a line of my family that needs filling out. I have her children's names, but not her grandchildren. I have many, many questions to ask you and look forward to corresponding with you. I do not have much on Rose or her husbands. I have her children's names, but not her grandchildren.

He had 3 brothers, Lyle, Archie, Clarence and four sisters lillian, louise, pearl, and evelyn. Clarissa was a twin of Clarence who died at twelve. Lyle and Archie lived all of their lives in Emmetsburg Lyle was a carpenter and Archie worked at the Texaco station for a lot of years. My dad ran a drive in restaurant in the 1950's and owned a bar called the wagon wheel.

Looking for McMann / McMahon in Palo Alto or Cerro Gordo Counties I know that at least one, Peter McMahon, stayed in the area. My GGGrandfather, Charles James McNally (b.1860) married Mary Ann McMahon (b.1848) November 25, 1877 in Mason City, Iowa. Mary Ann and Peter were sister and brother. I know of a few other McMahon's, but just started my McMahon search. CJ McNally is one of the sons of Myles and Mary McNally of Emmetsburg, Iowa, but he moved to Austin, Minnesota.
Thanks,
Shelly Tindal Alexander
