Only information I have is a reference to him in a biography of his brother, William Lucius Johnson, by Prof. L. F. Parker, _History of Poweshiek County, Iowa, Vol. II_, The S. J. Clarke Publishing Co., Chicago, IL, 1911, pp 470-472.

Parents were William Johnson of Steuben Co., NY, and Elizabeth (Betsy) Cleveland of Canada.

Listing of children of William Johnson & Elizabeth Cleveland from Parker: "F. N., of Fayetteville, Arkansas, who served for three years in the Union army as a member of company E, Twenty-ninth Ohio Volunteer Infantry; William Lucius of this review; N. M. of Dakota; Emma, the widow of Ed Hill, of Estherville, Iowa; Ernest M., of Primghar, Iowa; and Frank A., of Chicago. By a second marriage William Johnson had two children: Albert, of Cottonwood, California; and Addie Olmstead, now deceased."
