Ernie Cawiezell, 89, Tipton, died Saturday, June 15, 2002, at Davenport Lutheran Home, Davenport, after complications of Alzheimers Disease.
Services are at the Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. Richard Smith will officiate. Pallbearers are Jeffrey Cawiezell, Scott Cawiezell, Kirk Cawiezell, Bradley Cawiezell, Dennis Kleppe, Larry Ivins. Burial will be at Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
Mr. Cawiezell was born on Dec. 19, 1912, in Davenport, the son of Anthony J. and Dora T. Ehlert Cawiezell. He married Florence Mildred Stock on April 19, 1932, in Rock Island, Ill.
He attended Scott County schools.
He was a farmer, retiring in 1975.
He was a past member of the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 730 and a member of the Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Shirley Ann Cawiezell of Tipton and Ruby Ivins and her husband, Larry, of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Walter Cawiezell and his wife, Kay, of Tipton and Kenneth Cawiezell and his wife, Patricia, of Palo; a brother, Walter A. Cawiezell of St. Petersburg, Fla.; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Scott, Kirk and Bradley Cawiezell, Kari Senft, Becky and Rachael Ivins, Dennis and DiAnn Kleppe and Sara Cawiezell-Ditti; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Karen Cawiezell; two sisters, Wilma Schriebe and Edna Koep; and a brother, Erwin Cawiezell.
Dorothy M. Cawiezell, 86, of Davenport passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2004 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be at the Runge Mortuary, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church.
Dorothy was born on February 3, 1918 in Muscatine, IA., the daughter of Harry and Alvina (Kahl) Thoeming. She was united in marriage to Earl Cawiezell on Sept. 1, 1937 in Pleasant Prairie, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1998.
Dorothy was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women Group and the Rebecca Circle.
She enjoyed crocheting and creating afghans for her family whom she loved dearly.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Marvin Morgan of Davenport; son, Norman Cawiezell of Davenport; three grandchildren, Maureen (Doug) Greth of Erie, Illinois; Todd Morgan of Waconia, Minnesota; and Dawn Morgan of Ankeny; three great grandchildren, Jeffery, Kyle and Tommy; brother-in-law, Don (Eunice) Cawiezell of Muscatine; and three nephews and their families.
