Accidentally sent the last posting without finishing my info.!!

Cont. Appanoose County Iowa Cemeteries, Taylor Township p. 43-44

Wheelock son of L&J CRIST, d. Feb. 14, 1861
Nancy wife of J. CRIST d. Aug. 11, 1866 age 68y 4m 26d
John d. May 1, 1866 age 72 years
William G. son of J&E McCoy d. Aug 9, 1822 age 1y 10m22d

McCoy, Lewis Dec.28, 1848 - Oct. 6, 1925
Sara K. Nov 18, 1857 - Dec. 6, 1926
Harvey J. June 1875 - Nov. 28, 1926

The 1860 Census has him listed as a farmer born in Kentucky and Nancy born in NC

The 1830 Census for Perry Co, INDIANA, Tobin Twn. has the following listed:

Arad CRIST b. 1826
Lewis Crist b. 1818
Hiram Crist b. 1813
John Crist
2 females b. btw. 1825-1830
2 females b. btw. 1820 - 1825, one is Louisa Crist b. 11 Nov 1822
Nancy

I derived the actual birthdates from other records

The 1850 Populations Schedules for Perry Co., IN show John CRIST and Nancy, and daughter Nancy (age 18), and John HEILEY (24), Malvina HEILEY (23), and Emerine HEILEY (4m.) living in the same house. All the Heiley's were listed as born in IN. John HEILEY could be a possible brother to Louisa the wife of Hiram CRIST.

The Pioneer Ancestors of Members of the Society of Indiana Pioneers lists on p. 49 that John was born in 1793 in KY and he settled in Perry Co., IN in ~1813. He was in the Battle of Tippecanoe. It lists Nancy b. in NC and her previous residence as KY.

On p. 145 it lists the following:

McCoy, Malachi b. VA 1750-55, settled Washington Co, IN 1818, prev. residence NC
McCoy, William b. VA 1760, settled in Decatur Co., IN 1819.
prev. residence KY. In war of Revolution
McCoy, Nancy Waple b. VA 1780-90, settled in Decatur Co., IN 1819, prev. residence KY

It is possible that the last two may be grandparents of Havey McCoy, but of course, this is supposition.

This is all I have for now. I hope it helps!

BUT, here is my favorite record because I think it may give us some idea of Harvey McCoy's family.

Indiana Land Entries, Vol. 1 Cincinnati District 1801-1840, Franklin CO., p. 14, 58, 81, 167

James McCoy NE1/4 -S14; 9-19-1804
James McCoy SE1/4 - S4; 10-22-1804
James McCoy NW 1/4- S21; 10-19-1811
John Crist SE 1/4 - S21; 2-29-1812
John Crist NE 1/4 - NE 1/4 - S29; 6-12-1834

Coincidence? I think not!
