Hi Karen,

Thanks for the reply!. My email is siouxnelson@yahoo.com. I have some information mostly from Wayne Thomas' site Birds of a Feather which is EXCELLENT. But my parents have been working on the Thomas' genealogy for over 10 years. I am going to go to our Tracy Area Genealogy Society shorten version TAGS today and response in more detail when I get back. It is great to be in contact with someone from my great grandmother's family.
Sue Nelson, Tracy, CA

I wanted to find out more about Charles Lafatt Thomas, not sure if that is his correct middle name. If you have a chance please contact me. Thank you, Sue Nelson, Tracy, CA

I was hoping that someone would be able to help me locate a relative of my husband's. His name is Joseph V. Hinchman and he died in October 1902. It's my understanding from reading old newspaper articles he was a drug store owner and was a a contributor to many, many charities, churches, colleges, etc. I assume he is buried in Glenwood, but I'm not sure and I would love to get a photo fo his grave, as well as his wife's and child (who I understand died in infancy). Nancy, his wife, died December 1907. I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks in advance, Shannon

If you haven't done so already, I would recommend that you submit this query on the Fremont County, Iowa message board also. The town of Tabor, Iowa was built on the Mills/Fremont Counties, Iowa lines. Most of the town is in Fremont County except for the Tabor Cemetery, located on the northern edge town and is in Mills County.

Just thought I'd help out a little. Hope you find what you are looking for.

Here is the link to the Fremont County IAgenweb site. You may need to copy/paste.

http://iagenweb.org/fremont/

or the Fremont County Iowa rootsweb message board.

http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.iow...

Deb

A Century of Faith 1852 - 1952 pamphlet Congregational Church, Tabor, IA, 100th anniversary of the church

I am searching for an obituary for Myrtle Foote. She died in 1957. She served as a missionary with the Congregational Church and evidently was written up in a pamphlet entitled, "A Century of Faith 1852 - 1952" published by the Congregational Church at Tabor, IA, 100th anniversary of the church. If someone should have this pamplet and knows what wwas written about Myrtle Foote, I would really appreciate hearing back. Thanks.

Hi Erica, you may or may not be wrong on the county, Mills and Pottawattamie are adjacent, so there could conceivably be a connection with Mills as well; I just didn't see any, but that may not mean much.

Drop me an email at bandc (at) verinet (dot) com so I will have your email address, and I will see if I can get you your images. It may take me a day or two. I substituted (at) for @ and (dot) for . so that automatic search programs used by spammers can't recognize it, but I assume you will figure out how to put it back together.

Regards,
Robert L.
Robert~

Thank you so much! That is definitely my great grandfather. I must have the wrong county in Iowa. I believe that is where my grandpa was born. Is there anyway you can send me images of those items? Or is that not "allowed" since I am not a paying member on ancestry.com? I usually go to the library & use their edition of ancestry for free.

Thank you once again!
~Erica

This story is fascinating. My husband descends from the brother of Sarah Ann Webster Wright, who married Appler. It is interesting that Sarah's mother was Octavia Wright Webster, but I have not found a connection between the two Wright families. I would like to learn more of Appler and Sarah and their family (I have children's names and some grandchildren), and am willing to share my Webster info if you want it.
