I'm looking for any information on Louise Lilja Carlson married to August Peterson. All I know about her is that she died 1911 in Hastings and gave birth to her children there. Carl, Anna, Fred, Tillie, John, Della, Christine, and Alice. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

According to the microfilmed death records from Mills Co. found on FHC microfilm, Louise Peterson was born 8 Mar 1866 in Sweden. Her father is listed as Carl L. (no last name recorded but possibly Larson or other surname beginning with the letter L.) Mother is listed as Anna Gabriel. Cause of death was pulmonary tuberculosis. Informant was August Peterson of Hastings.

Peterson, Louise 8 Mar 1866 - 17 Apr 1911

It is possible that obits can be obtained through Glenwood Library. Contact me for more info.

The family was also found on the 1900 census of White Cloud
Twp along with dates of immigration etc.

Also found birth dates for other children than you had listed. Write me privately for more.

I have no way of knowing if this connects to your line but I do have a Monroe Co. Iowa marriage.

Gideon D. Remy and Tillie Peterson m. 26 Nov. 1889

They were in Kansas for some years after 1900 then
returned to Iowa where they died and are burried in
Oakview Cemetery Monroe Co. Iowa.

Note the two oldest children appear to have left their parents' household by 1910.

Lilja is a Swedish name, pronounced "Leelya" in Sweden. There are quite a number of Swedish immigrants named Carl Lilja who came to the U.S. -- more than you would think -- and you would need more info to find the right one, such as when born, name of wife, etc.
